Air source heat pumps extract heat from the outside air in the same way that a fridge extracts heat from its inside. They extract heat from the air even when the outside temperature is as low as minus 15°C. Unlike a Ground Source heat pump these units must be placed outside for air to circulate around the pump for its passive heat recovery.
At Southwest Renewables we have always use the higher quality system available and due to this our customer are always happy with finished installations. This has allowed us to build a huge portfolio of customers that recommend us time and time again. Vaillant now offer a 7 year full parts and labour warranty on their product installed by us as they know a great heat pump is nothing without the same level of installation.

South West Renewables supply and install heat pumps within new build domestic and commercial developments throughout Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and Somerset . This technology is suitable to retro-fit due to the reasonably small foot print of the heat pump. This is often accompanied by the removal of an existing oil or LPG tank creating more space rather than less.
Heat pumps require very little maintenance, however since Air source heat pumps produce a lower temperature heat than traditional boilers, it’s essential that your property is insulated and draught proofed well for the heating system to be effective. although if this is not possible a well sized pump will still heat efficiently, If possible, under floor heating can provide greater efficiencies than radiators because the water doesn’t need to be heated to such a high temperature. If under floor heating isn’t possible, oversized radiators or high surface area heating such as skirting heaters can be used.
Our experienced team of renewable energy engineers will carry out an obligation free assessment to determine the most suitable system for your property and circumstance.
